Stylus Recording Arts specialises in live recording and sound re-inforcement for live bands.
We're a small, tight, dedicated outfit. We're also very picky with our clients - we don't do just any gig. We also don't advertise - word of mouth is a testament to the good job we do.
Our primary reason for doing a gig is enjoyment. If we're going to have fun and be part of a great show, we're interested. If you're a prima donna please don't call - we don't want the hassle.
What We Do:
- live sound
- live recording
- Concert lighting design & operation (equipment supplied by partner companies)
What We Don't Do:
- More than one gig a day. We're not running around trying to setup other gigs before and after yours. If you've booked us, you're our 100% commitment for that day.
- DJ. Disc Jockey's are specialists in their trade. That's not our trade.
Because of our niche market, our size, and our desire to help musicians, we do many gigs either pro-bono or reduced fees. We appreciate that for most gigs the PA system can represent one of the biggest expenses.
It's also one of the most important parts. When a band has to compromise on a PA because of price it usually means compromising on the quality of the sound.
We can help here. We've found that whereas we lose financially on some gigs, we pick it up on others - gigs that may not have been possible without some help on the first ones. But more importantly, if we're having fun at all the gigs, it's a win-win situation.
However the flip side of this situation is that a quality PA costs serious money to assemble and maintain. If your event is for profit we won't be taken advantage of.
It's these gigs that pay the bills and enable us to do pro-bono work. This doesn't translate into higher costs for your profit events - we also pride ourselves on being able to provide at competitive prices a quality PA system far in excess of what would normally be supplied for the same price elsewhere.
